We make uniquely hand-painted silk items from scarves to wall-hangings and also hand-felted products (many with incorporated silks). The floral and forest surroundings we live in are reflected in the design and art work. Commissions are one of our specialities. Astrid, originally from Hamburg, works as a textile artist for many years in the West of Ireland. She opened her own studio in 1999 and has exhibited at Wexford Festival Opera for the sixth time in 2004. The Bombyx Mori range of work includes silk scarves, pashminas, wool lawn, ties, bowties, jewellery, wall-hangings, screens, pictures, cushions, hats, bags, waistcoats and other hand-felted articles.
