Brendan's
Boat
Handcrafted Leather
In the 6th Century AD., an Irish monk known as "Brendan the
Navigator" set out on a voyage in a leather-hulled boat. Legend
has it that he reached Newfoundland. Brendan's Boat was the first
recorded example of Irish leathercraft to leave these shores.
"Brendan's Boat" is a small craft workshop in Ballyvaughan,
Co Clare, owned and run by Tony Mc Fadden.
Using special embossing and hand-dyeing techniques (developed by
Tony over the last fifteen years) he produces unique, beautiful
and functional leather goods in both "Celtic" and "Plain"
designs.
His range of leathergoods include belts, bags, wallets, covered
diaries, journals and address books, as well as key rings and other
small items.
He doesn't use fancy packaging or spend a fortune on advertising
- just providing the very best products at the very best price.
He sells DIRECT to his customers, and enjoys the personal aspect
that this adds to his business.
